AUGUST 2015 BOOKSHARE

Hello, Book Lovers!

Here is a list of the books that were discussed last Thursday night at Maryann Stevens' home. We were few in numbers, but the books presented were great. We hope to have more who will be able to come in September.

Here is the recipe for the delicious chocolate cake that Maryann served following our book discussion:


Norals's Chocolate Zucchini Cake


2 ½ c flour
¾ c butter
1/3 – ½ c cocoa powder
2 c sugar
2 ½ teaspoons baking powder
3 eggs
1 ½ teaspoons baking soda
1Tablespoon vanilla
1 teaspoon cinnamon
½ teaspoon nutmeg
2 1/2 - 3 c grated zucchini

1/2 c milk

1 c chopped nuts (optional)

Sift together dry ingredients.
Cream butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla.
Alternately add sifted dry ingredients and then milk to creamed mixture. 
Stir in zucchini and nuts.

Grease and flour Bundt cake pan.

Bake at 350 45-55 mins.
