We met last Thursday night at Geri Christensen's home and discussed some wonderful books--some new and some from previous meetings that were read, loved and suggested to the group. Here is the list of books that were presented:
BETH HEDENGREN:
HANNAH COULTER by Wendell Berry
Prose written as poetry. Beauty story of a woman’s life and
how she dealt with family life and problems.
SARA TRIVEDI:
THE CHRISTMAS BLESSING by Donna Van Liere
A nice Christmas story about a medical student who isn’t
sure he wants to become a doctor.
THE WINTER PEOPLE by Jennifer McMahon
A mystery that takes place in 1908 and modern times in
Vermont. Two different families living in the same farmhouse. It has all kinds
of intrigue, murders and Native-American mystique.
THE QUARTET: The Story of the Four Framers of the
Constitution

LANI PACKARD:
LITTLE MEN by Louisa May Allcott
About Jo and her husband who run a school for children.
TIME OF FOG AND FIRE by Rhys Bowen
A Molly Murphy mystery. Historical fiction.
THE BROKEN GUN by Louis L’Amour. Very suspenseful and
enjoyable.
WITCHES OF EAST END, THE SERPENT’S KISS AND WINDS OF SALEM by
Incorporates a lot of Norse mythology.
MARYANN STEVENS:
HOUSE GIRL by Tara Conklin Book goes between Mid-town
Manhattan and a slave’s life in the South. A very good book.
KATHARINE PONZOCH:
HOUSEKEEPING: A novel by Marilynne Robison
GERI CHRISTENSEN:;
SECRET GARDEN by Frances Hodgson Burnett
MRS. POLIFAX AND THE CHINA STATION by Dorothy Gilman
