"Sold on Monday" by Christina MacMorris - Based on a true story about children who were sold during the depression by parents in poverty.
BETH HEDENGREN

"These Is My Words" by Nancy Turner - the Diary of Sarah Agnes Prine 1881-1901
"All The Crookcd Saints" by Maggie Steifvater - Pilgrims travel to Bicho Raro, Colorado, for a miracle from the Sorias, a Mexican family of saints who can "cure" people of their darkness.
GERI CHRISTENSEN
"Coming Home" by Rosamunde Pilcher - a masterful and deeply satisfying novel of a young woman, Judith Dunbar, and her life of love, tragedy and triumphs during World War II in England.
"Grit" by Angela Duckworth - a non-fiction book that explores the interesting question of why some people are able to persist and overcome challenges while others give up and quit trying. Very interesting.
